The Ultimate Guide to a Romantic Weekend at Elevation652

There is a specific moment, about halfway up the winding drive to the summit of Mt Bellevue, where the air changes. The hum of the city is replaced by the rustle of Blackwood trees, and suddenly, you’re standing 652 metres above the ordinary.

At Elevation652, romance isn’t just about a comfortable bed; it’s about the 1,500 acres of breathing room around it. Whether you are celebrating an anniversary, a proposal, or simply a weekend away from the noise, here is how to craft the perfect romantic reset at the top of the King Valley.

The Lakehouse or The Garden house

Choosing Your Sanctuary

We’ve designed two distinct stays, each offering a different way to experience the stillness of the mountain.

The Lakehouse | The Enchanting Storybook Loft
Perched quietly above the farm’s tranquil dam and orchard, The Lakehouse is our most sought-after stay for anniversaries.
The Romantic Highlight: The master suite features a king-size bed in a mezzanine loft with a private balcony. Imagine waking up to watch the mist rise off the water while ducks and trout ripple the surface below.
The Experience: With its two-storey layout, this house feels like a private estate. It’s moody, sophisticated, and perfect for couples who want to “cocoon” away from the world.

The Garden House | Heartwarming Simplicity
Tucked beside our organic vegetable garden, this stay captures the “slow-living” essence of country life.
The Romantic Highlight: The enclosed wood-fire heater and the bright, sun-drenched breakfast nook.
The Experience: This is for the couple who loves fresh air and farm charm. Open the windows to hear the birds, wander the orchard for seasonal fruit, and enjoy the bright, airy energy of the summit.

On-Property Rituals

Making Memories at 652m

You don’t need to leave the front gate to find romance. Our 1,500-acre working farm is your private playground.

The Sunrise & Sunset Lookouts: We have two dedicated lookouts at the summit. Sunrise Lookout is perfect for early risers to watch the valley floor turn from deep indigo to gold. Sunset Lookout is our favourite ritual. Pack a rug and a bottle of Redbank wine, and head to the picnic tables. Watching the sky catch fire over the King Valley is a rite of passage here.

The Tennis Challenge: If you’re a couple that likes a bit of friendly competition, our guest tennis court is the perfect spot for an afternoon match followed by a cold drink in the shade.

Farm Safari: Take a slow walk to the paddocks to meet our Shetland donkeys, Pygmy goats, and horses. There is something incredibly grounding about spending time with the animals.

Stargazing: With zero light pollution, the night sky at the summit is a spectacle. On a clear night, the Milky Way is so vivid it feels close enough to touch.

Off-Property Dining

Date Night

The King Valley is a gourmet paradise. Here are three ways to spend an afternoon or evening together:

The Refined Long Lunch (Chrismont): Just 15 minutes away, Chrismont offers world-class dining with floor-to-ceiling windows. It is the most “elegant” date spot in the valley—order the pasta, share a bottle of Prosecco, and soak in the views of the Black Ranges.

The Casual Italian Feast (Pizzini or Dal Zotto): For a more relaxed, “family-style” romance, head to the heart of the Prosecco Road. Grab a wood-fired pizza at Dal Zotto or a seasonal platter at Pizzini. It’s the kind of place where lunch easily turns into a three-hour affair.

The Picnic Adventure: Head to Paradise Falls (40 mins away) for a walk behind the 31-metre waterfall, or drive to Lake William Hovell to sit on the banks of the water under the trees.

The Slow Reset

The Art of Doing Nothing

Sometimes, the most romantic thing you can do is absolutely nothing. Our stays are designed for “The Slow Reset.” Stay in your robes, keep the fire roaring (or the air-con humming in February!), and just watch the clouds roll across the valley. We provide the peace; you provide the company.

Book Direct for a Complimentary Bottle of Wine

5. The “Direct” Difference

When you book directly through our website, we include a complimentary bottle of local King Valley wine for your stay. It’s our way of saying “Welcome to the Summit.”

Ready to find your peace? The views are better in person, and the stillness is something you have to feel to believe.
