Where Every Sunrise Tells a New Story

Farm Life at Elevation652

Life at Elevation652 Farm moves with the rhythm of the land. Each day begins with the soft light of dawn spilling over Mt Bellevue, the sound of animals stirring, and the scent of crisp mountain air. Across 1,500 acres of rolling paddocks, vineyards, olive groves, and open pasture, there’s always something happening, and always time to stop and take it all in. “Here, farm life isn’t a performance, it’s simply life, lived honestly and close to nature.”

Our days start with feeding Simba our cat, fish, chooks, pigmy goats, miniature donkeys, horses, and checking the Black Angus cattle, or walking the vineyards as the mist lifts from the valley. You might see our team on horseback guiding the herd, hear the hum of the tractor in the distance, or watch as ducks glide across the dam under the shade of old gums.

Guests are welcome to share in this rhythm, to join a supervised animal feeding, wander through the olive groves, or simply sit back on the verandah and listen to the sounds of the farm. It’s peaceful, grounding, and deeply real, the kind of experience that reminds you how good life can feel when it slows down. “At 652 metres above sea level, the sky feels closer, the air feels cleaner, and every moment feels a little more meaningful.”

Our Cattle Farming

Cattle farming is at the heart of Elevation652 Farm. Across our 1,500 acres at the very top of Mt Bellevue, more than 250 head of Black Angus cattle and four Angus bulls graze peacefully beneath wide High Country skies. Our breeding program is built on quality, calm handling, and deep respect for the animals and the land. The Black Angus breed is known for its strength and adaptability but for us, it’s more than just farming. It’s about stewardship, balance, and care. “We believe in working with nature, not against it, and that begins with calm, happy cattle.”

Whenever possible, our team moves the herd on horseback, allowing the animals to stay relaxed as they make their way to new pastures. It’s a traditional practice that keeps stress low and reflects the quiet, respectful way we like to work. Guests often enjoy watching the herd graze across the hills, calves walking close beside their mothers, and the rhythm of genuine farm life unfolding right before them. For many, it’s a rare chance to see what real high-country cattle farming looks like, thoughtful, sustainable, and deeply connected to the land. “At Elevation652 Farm, the sound of hooves on grass and the sight of cattle moving through morning mist remind us, this is what country life is all about.”

Leaving the land better than we found it

Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

We continually improve and care for this special land by upgrading paddocks and fencing, maintaining and extending walking tracks, building new lookouts and picnic areas, and exploring new ways to reduce our environmental footprint. Our goal is to leave the land better than we found it, to nurture soil, water, and wildlife while sharing the farm’s natural beauty with our guests. “Elevation652 Farm isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a living, working landscape where respect, renewal, and rural life come together.”
